Water Efficiency

Indoor Water

1.Install new low-flow/ water efficient plumbing fixtures.
2.Use non-potable water. Non-potable water includes gray water, captured rain water, or municipal reclaimed water.
3.Install sub-meters to track water use, and inefficiencies if any.

Outdoor Water

1.Choose native plants for landscape, as these will use less or no water.
2.Specify drought tolerant and xeriscape plants in arid regions.
3.Use water- efficient irrigation methods such as drip irrigation, or use of weather based controllers.
4.Use non-potable water. Non-potable water includes gray water, captured rain water, or municipal reclaimed water.
5.Install sub-meters to track water use, and inefficiencies if any.

Process Water

Process water is one which is used for industrial processes or building operations, such as used in cooling towers, chillers, boilers, etc.

1.Use non-potable water. Non-potable water includes gray water, captured rain water, or municipal reclaimed water.
2.Install sub-meters to track water use, and inefficiencies if any
